This book is a reflective journey by Irakli Laitadze into the recent past. The author is a witness of the events that laid the foundation of the Soviet Union’s essential qualities—absurdity, deceit, and cruelty. He explores and ponders the policies of the totalitarian regime, its oppressive reforms, and methods of human destruction. Drawing on his personal experiences, Irakli Laitadze depicts the monstrous force that removed individuals further from civilization.

Yet, a few episodes highlight moments of light—instances where glimpses of humanity briefly shone amidst the darkness. For those who lived through these times, the memories will resurface vividly and some of them might re-evaluate the present, which is inevitably formed by the past. For younger generations fortunate enough to be born later, this will serve as a history – perhaps some parts of which they have yet to hear.
